Fun fact
James Naismith

James Naismith
If someone decided to go online to search the history of basketball, they would find that the game was invented in 1891, by a Canadian educator named, Dr. James Naismith.
Dr. Naismith’s school asked him to create a sport that students could play indoors during the winter to stay active.
He developed the game using peach baskets as the first nets. That is why the sport was named basketball. The metal hoop was later invented in 1906, and the game continues to be played to this day!
